2014 Year End Review

I have time off. Right now. Actually two weeks of time off courtesy of my kind and generous boss who gave the entire staff a well-deserved time off over the holidays. Of course it didn't mean that I had nothing to do, in fact we've been out pretty much every day, doing fun stuff as a family. Pretty cool because I can't remember a time when I had this much amount of time off when I drew the line and genuinely did not think of work that I could be doing or the work that is waiting for me when I get back. So... stress-free (but not necessarily not sleep-deprived) mind = time to write. So here I am. What was 2014 like? In a nutshell, it was a direct result of everything I did and accomplished the year before. But this year, there were a few intangible things that came with tangible accomplishments that led me to realize that I'm finally beginning to mature about my outlook in life. My idea of goals are no longer as one-sided as they used to, let's put it that way. ...

Friendships that Last

I don't have time to give any background but I do apologize for neglecting this blog for the last eight months, which if I hadn't done so would've given you the reason why I'm in New York on business right now. But anyway yeah, I'm in New York for a week and tonight I met with my long-time good friend Keil. I don't know what it was, but I just felt so happy during the time we spent together and even after we parted our ways, I stood their inside the hotel elevator thinking with a fuzzy feeling that no matter what the circumstances, great friendships last a long time, if not forever. It was SO good to see him. On the corner of 50th and 5th and as I watched him cross the street towards me, we gave each other a huge hug and then he handed me a small plastic bag that contained dried mangoes, and mango and lychee jelly. I laughed so hard but thinking to myself, "Nice try, Keil, this does not make up for all the food you've eaten from my fridge!" ...
