2013 Year End Review
The theme for this year is leadership. Just when I decided to take it slow and was actually content to lay low and take my time with my work and ambitions, the universe decided, "Nah, we were just messing with you. You're totally ready to take on more stuff." And boy did I take on a lot this year! I chaired and led the choir's first ever gala fundraiser to start the funding support for their first ever high school choral immersion program. Called the shots, kept it simple and bothered the least amount of people I could possibly bug and we raised $10,000. As simple as it was, this wouldn't have been quite an undertaking if my boss at my real non-volunteer job hadn't decided to go on vacation first for over a month then leave for another job! Hyperventilated for a while but I just plowed forward and made everything happen during the busiest time at the opera.
