Mission Accomplished!

I did it! I'm shocked that I was able to do it, but nevertheless I did it! I was able to jump into the deep end of the pool without a noodle, tread water, and swim the entire length of the pool - twice! Mind you I was dead exhausted afterwards. I was practically crawling my way out of the water I was so tired. I couldn't even feel my legs when I got out of the pool. My legs felt like the first time I stood up after my epidural. Ah the memories. Don't get me wrong, they were good memories. I loved my epidural! Anyway, so this was what happened. It's been a pretty crappy day of straight rain. Not that I minded since it hasn't rained here in so long. In fact I welcomed it with open arms! It was one of those days when the weather just made afternoon naps extra special. But it also made you not want to do anything but stay in your pajamas all day. I was seriously debating whether to skip swimming class or not. But in the end I made myself go because I wanted to have perf...

Performance Review

I'm going back to work in exactly one month, one week, and one day -- where did my whole year go??? Seriously, it's like this past year never happened! Have I really been looking after two kids and changing diapers all this time? I don't even remember being sleep deprived. I mean I still am, Bell still wakes up every once in a while but I'm not exhausted or angry with the world because of it. Has it almost been a year this month since Eduardo and Raine moved to Victoria? Wait, is Bell turning one year old? Good lord, do I have two toddlers now??? It's not that I'm not excited to go back to work either because I am, but I'm also a little afraid. One time I tried to think about how a regular day at work was like and I couldn't even remember any of the passwords to our research databases. Hell I can't even remember the names of our databases! I'm not even sure I remember the names of a lot of people actually. Wait, what do I do for a living again? H...

Testimonial Sunday

Last Sunday I went to church with Eduardo and his mom and just my luck, it was the first Sunday of the month (AGAIN!!!) which means it was another freaking testimonial Sunday at the Mormon church. Why is it that everytime I go with them it falls on this awful day? The day when the entire service is dedicated to anyone who wants to go up the podium and share whatever the hell it is they want to share about the gospel. I have nothing against the sharing part, I just wonder why is it that the people who are so keen on doing this in church are the ones who suck at public speaking and are incapable of giving concrete examples. And yet they still find some reason to weep and be emotional about what they just shared even though from the audience perspective, it made absolutely no sense. Either that or it's something completely shallow that they should never have shared it at all! Like this one guy who said that one time his grandchild had a really bad stomach problem and he got better aft...
